Within the frameworks of the conference, International symposium "Diamonds market development" will take place.

The President of "ALROSA" company V. Kalitin is expected to make a report "Russian diamond mining complex: present situation, problems and future development" during the first plenary session of the conference. It will be held on October 31, in ITAR-TASS office. Four more reports made by JSC "ALROSA" representatives will be heard at International symposium "Diamonds market development".

These reports present almost all the aspects of Russian diamond complex development including diamond mining, sorting, production and certifying, jewellery production and sale, and the role of the State in the sector.

Other participants of the symposium are the representatives of UE "Kristall", "Almazyuvelirexport" company, OJSC "Almazny Mir", "Bank Moskvy" (the Bank of Moscow), Russian diamond mining, cutting, jewellery, trade, credit and scientific companies and organisations, heads and experts of Russian ministries and departments.

Raymond Clark, the general director of De Beers's representation in Russia, will make a report as well.
