In 2002 the local office of the Savings Bank of Russia in Nizhni Novgorod increased the volume of work with precious metals (golden, platinum, palladium, silver coins and ingots).

This year the Bank has sold 11221 coins (including 1476 golden coins), the total mass of them being 267 kg. Besides, around 760 kg of silver and 14 kg of gold in ingots were sold for 9 months. These are the best results during the history of the Bank in Nizhni Novgorod.

In 2002 the Bank started buying coins of precious metals and opening "metal accounts" for cashless operations with precious metals.
