OCTOBER 16 ![]() "ALROSA" is going to offer its non-jewellery business to oil and gas industry companies
On Wednesday two delegations arrive to Yakutia in order to handle negotiations with the President of Yakutia Vyacheslav Shtyrov. The delegations present the companies, which at first sight seem to have nothing in common - "ALROSA" and "Gasprom". However, one of these companies has something to attract the attention of the other one: "ALROSA" has already mentioned that it is going to sell its non-jewellery sector of business - oil and gas pipe-lines and oil-refining plants - and to concentrate upon its brand development only. This meeting is connected with recent agreement on joint oil and gas deposits exploitation. "ALROSA" itself will focus on jewellery business development. Now the company makes negotiations with the largest foreign jewellery companies on the brand "ALROSA" promotion worldwide. Meanwhile, a new organisation aimed to lobby the interest of business in jewellery industry has appeared in Moscow. On Tuesday Valeriy Rudakov, the Head of the Committee on business undertaking in precious metals and gemstones sphere support, conducted the first meeting of the Committee, after which he spoke for the necessity of denying access to secret documents in jewellery industry. At the present moment the figures of numerous precious metals and gemstones resources, production and sale volume are the State secret. It contradicts the idea of Russia's entry to WTO, as the market will demand more information. Source: "Izvestiya"
