The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has issued a set of golden and silver memorial coins devoted to the parents of the Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov in memory of Ashkhabad earthquake victims.

Coins contain the portraits of the President parents on one side of coins, and the profile of the President himself on the reverse side.

According to the Central Bank, 1 thou of memorial coins at face value of 500 manats are made of 925 fine silver and 200 coins at face value of 1 thou manats (mass 39,9g) are made of 22k gold.
