SEPTEMBER 23
The Swiss turned out to have a great deal of gold
The national referendum on the use of the State gold surplus ($13,4 billion) took place in Switzerland on Sunday. None of the two projects presented was approved. First project designed by the Government of the Confederation provided for the financing of the Pension Fund of the country, the budgets of 26 cantons and semi-cantons, and the Swiss Fund of Solidarity by means of use of the percentage of the sum. According to the second variant, it is intended to pass the means delivered in the result of the sale of the gold surplus to the Pension Fund.
Both projects are rejected, as they have not obtained the necessary majority during the referendum.
