For eight months of 2002 miners of Kola Peninsula produced 20 tons of gold, which is 2651 kg more than the figures for the same period of the previous year. According to the press-service of the local authorities, such improvement was mainly achieved on ore deposits. The leading company of the season Omolonsk Gold mining company "Kubaka" - 7919 kg. Ore deposits of Omsuchkan region took up the srecond position with "Julietta" mine, producing 2150 kg of gold and CJSC "Silver territory" - 184 kg. On the whole, for 8 months Refining Plant of Kola Peninsula received 19777 kg ore and random gold, including 1817 kg form Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Chukot.
