In course of seven months 2002 Russia increased its gold manufacture by 18,2 % up to 81,2 tons, compare to the figures for the same period of 2001. This was announced by Vladimir Rybkin, Deputy Head of "GOKHRAN", Russian State Depositary for Precious Metals and Gemstones.

"According to predictions made by the "GOKHRAN"'s experts, in 2002 Russian manufacturers are expected to increase the production rate by 13 % up to 175 tons.

Gold mining for random deposits stays on the same level as last year- about 75 tons. On the whole Russia produced 154,3 tons of gold in 2001.
