Issues of imposing stricter measures on embezzlement of precious metals and gemstones are discussed at the meeting of Federal Security Service associates which opened Wednesday in Zheleznogorsk (Krasnoyarsky Krai).

According to RIA Novosti correspondent the meeting gathered representatives of over 20 subjects of Russia, associates of Gokhran state treasury reserve, Assay Office of Russia, ALROSA company, other bodies and organisations related to the PM and Gemstone market.

Correspondents were told the meeting which is to last for 3 days will be highly confidential due to the issues discussed

Official figures state that over 1999 FSS of Krasnoyarsky Krai only withdrew gold, platinum and precious metals of over $40 mln. During current year FSS and Home Ministry officers detected two illegal plants for platinum, palladium concentrate production.
