JULY 23, 2001 ![]() A Huge Diamond Deposit Can Be Found in East Siberia. Wolfgang Kundt, a German Scientist Gave His Explanation for Tunguska Event. He Says It Was an Eruption of Volcano Gas and It Resulted it Formation of Kimberlite - Diamond Containing Resource
The results of his research is published in Current Science magazine. Several years Kundt studied the phenomenon of "Tunguska event" and came to conclusion that there was an ejection of million tons of volcanic gas. The destruction type can prove this theory, as not a splinter of meteorite exploded was found.
According to him such an ejection should have caused kimberlite formation and as a result to diamonds. Astrophysician told The Times that this discovering make East Siberia the richest Russian region ever.
It is interesting to note that the first man who visited the place of the phenomenon was not a physician but a jeweler Suzdalev who worked in Tunguska basin in 1910 and ordered native inhabitants not to tell anyone about their finds.
Scientists cannot come to one version on the Tunguska phenomenon and claim from catastrophy of space ship to comet fall. Kundt is sure that there is no sense in finding the reason for the event which never happened.
