JULY 10, 2001 ![]() Customs Officers Withdrew 34 pieces of Silver from Russian Tourist
Custom officers of Poltavsky office (Maritime Territory) looking through the coach to China noticed a man whose jacket pockets were packed jammed full with something. During a frisk they withdrew 34 pieces of silver of total weight of 3 kg. According to Vostok-Media the cost of silver is over 44,000 RUR. The smuggler said he has collected waste products and microcircuits containing precious metal and intended to sell it in China.
