JULY 9, 2001  State Duma Approved Amendments to Tax Code That Increase Excise to 12%
On July 6 State Duma passed a draft "On Amendments and Additions to Article 22 of Tax Code of the Russian Federation". Originally it was planned to increase excises up to 5% but finally it came to 12% on jewellery and natural gas.
Need to increase excises occurred due to the inflation growth.
