JULY 3, 2001  ALROSA Increased Diamond Production 5.2%& in 2000
Diamond extraction of ALROSA Company increased 5.2% from $1.6 bn in 1999.
This information was announced after the meeting in Mirny on June 30. In 2000 the company mined diamonds worth $1.6231 bn. Growth is linked to the price growth, improvement of political and economic situation in Russia. Net profit of the company in 2000 amounts 9.9 bn RUR.
ALROSA shareholders decided to pay 2.000 rubles of dividends per share. Net profit of branches and related enterprises of ALROSA in 2000 amounted 1.3 bn RUR.
