As it has been reported by PRIME-TASS, in January - April 2006 Russian gold mining increased by 4.4% as compared with the same period last year. In particular, in April it grew up by 3.2% in comparison with April 2005, but decreased by 6.3% as compared with March 2006.

Diamonds mining in April grew up by 17.9% in comparison with April 2005 and by 11% as compared with March 2006.
