St. Petersburg 6th Economic Forum today officially commences it work. The Forum will be held until June 21.

The main targets of the Forum are to hold a wide, independent discussion on economic development of CIS states, its role in formation of new markets, as well as attracting new investment to the economy of such states and Russia's regions.

Other distinctive feature of the Forum is its lack of political preferences. Annually attracting representatives of over 50 countries and over 30 international organizations, including UN, UNESCO and European Council, the Forum becomes a strong multi-national discussion and issue-solving platform.

The five previous forums produced over four thousand investment projects and developed a fine tradition of holding various exhibitions and fairs.

This year plenary meetings and thematic "round tables" of the Forum will be discussing the process of economic reforms in CIS states, issues regarding Russia's entry to WTO, legislative regulation of social and economic processes, various aspects of investment policy and other topics.

On June 20th a "Round Table" on the subject of "Development of the Market of Precious Metals and Gemstone in CIS States" as a part of the St. Petersburg 6th Economic Forum.
