Dalnevostochny zhurnal" reported that precious metal and gemstone committee of Yakutia Government and "Rus Almaz" financial and industrial company launched a new cutting plant in Yakutsk. Predicted capacity is about 7,000 carats a month. The first output will be manufactured by summer of 2001. Staff is being educated, the plant is operated by 64 people. Cutting plant established by the committee and "Rus Almaz" is already functioning.
