ALROSA company plans to increase diamond production volume during next 5 years up to $2 bn, RIA Novosti was informed in ALROSA Moscow Agency, stressing that volume of diamond production of 2000 was estimated at $1.5 bn.

It is expected that Zarnitsa deposit development and new pit construction will play an important role in this process. Capacity expected - about $1 bn a year.

During current year the company expects to sell raw diamonds and cut diamonds worth $2.056 bn and $273.4 mln respectively. Geological prospecting will also be increased.
