Gold Fever in Magandanskaya Oblast
It is paredoxical that it is not profitable for the state to mine gold there where it is profitable for Americans and Ingushskaya Republic.
What is the most gold-bearing region in Russia? Right you are, Magadanskaya Oblast. What is the richest district of this Oblast? Right again, Susumansky. Any nonprofitable mines? Yes, all of them are unprofitable. In whose opinion? Governors.
These are rumours which deal with the closure of the most promising mines. The people are losing their jobs. Rumors say that closed due to unprofitably mines are run by Ingushzoloto, organisation which is registered at FSRF and Economic Criminal Department red lists only.
ECD of Moscow announced that illegal gold from Kolyma is no longer traded in Moscow which means that there is a discreet system of mining, transportation, and sale of gold. And the name of Governor is so strange to appear near this notorious enterprise.
Another strange trend of Kolyma - unprofitable mines usually attract foreigners. Americans, for instance. They rent completely unprofitable "Kubaka" mine. So it completely unprofitable for Russia when for foreign businessmen make money on it.
