Liberia Banned Importing Non-Certified Diamonds
Liberia which can undergo imposition of the UNO sanctions for trading diamonds originating from Sierra Lione banned import of uncut non-certified diamonds, RIA Novosti correspondent informs.
According to the source from the presidential circles this action is aimed at preventing the UNO sanctions imposation.
At the beginning of the current month Liberia Authorities halted diamond exporting for a 3 months term in order to stabilise certifying system.
Earlier, in October 2000, Sierra Lione establish a certifying system in order to reinforce control over international diamond trade.
