Legal Procedures Executed Against "Chukotskoye Zoloto"
Office of Public Prosecutor of Fareastern Federal District executed a criminal case on non-return of $15.2 mln credit aimed at development of gold producing in the district.
The examination made clear that in December 1994 ex-governor of Chukotsky Autonomous District Alexander Nazarov entered into a contract with "Chukotskoye Zoloto" Financial and Industrial Company.
In accordance with the terms of the contract credit was to be payed by passing gold to Gokhran of Russia. The term of the contract expired in October 2000 but by this time the company failed to keep their promises. It no longer keep any activity and the director of the company went into hiding.
