Gold Producing in Russia Increased 14.3%
Gold production in Russia in 2000 increased compared to 1999 from 126 t to 144 t, Chairman of the Union of Gold-Diggers of Russia Valery Braiko said at the exhibition "GOLD'2001. From deposit to jewelry". According to him gold producers of Irkutskaya Oblast, Khabarovsky Krai, Yakutia improved significantly their results. According to him there are no problems with realisation of produced gold. He expressed concern about the price drop of gold at the world market and asked Government to ban 5% quota on gold exporting. He expressed his hope the volume of gold producing in 2001 will increase.
