Starting Monday De Beers guarantees that not a single diamond traded by the company was not purchased from African rebels. The decision was made in accordance with sanctions imposed by the UNO in 1998 and consisting in the embargo on purchase of diamons from the Angolan antigovernmental movement UNITA, reports Interfax. The guarantees of De Beers concern not only UNITA but all antigovernmental movements currently acting in diamond-mining African countries.
