Their color pictures and descriptions can be seen at the special site in the Internet. They all go under the category of "pillaged items" that should be returned to their lawful owners according to the laws of the united Germany. The treasures were hastily removed by the state security service of former Germany Republic from its headquaters at Normanstrasse. The event took place during the rapid politica changes of 1998 when the Berlin wall was about to fall.

Some sources report that 112 of tarpaulin sacks and cases sealed by the secret service were delivered at night to the state bank under strict security supervision and hid in its basement. Later one of the bodyguards will tell that the containers of 20-30 kg each were handed over to another team.

Their further destiny is unknown. Some claimed that all the gold was sold overseas through one large company trading art and antiques. Yet some believe it was secretly delivered to Moscow where it was taken over by the KGB and is still being stored in secret reserves of either Tchelyabinks or Novosibirsk area.
