Considering the current tendencies and provided certain rules of the Internet trade are observed, the Internet shopping in Russia might exceed $6 million in 2001. The estimations were made by the American Trade Chamber in Russia. According to the Russian Center of Internet Technologies, in 1999 the volume of the Russian Internet service market reached $160 million. By November 1999, the specialists estimate, the number of the Internet users older than 18 was 5.4 million and by the end of 1999 exceeded 7.8 million people.
