Russian gold and currency reserves increased $300 million from Feb. 18 to Feb. 25 (by 2.26% - from 13.3 billion to 13.6 billion). This official data was received by PRIME-TASS from the Department Of Foreign and Domestic Affairs of the CBR.
The volume increased by 8.8% from the beginning of 2000 when the reserves were $12.5 billion.
Currency assets of the Central Bank of Russia and Ministry of Finance are evaluated in the US dollars on the basis of cross rates of national currencies against the US dollar. The rates are calculated in accordance with the official ruble exchange rate set by the Central Bank on due date.
