Valeriy Braiko, the chairman of the Union of Gold Producers of Russia declared during the meeting of gold industry representatives that the prospected resources of gold in Russia are enough for at least 5 years.

The participants of the meeting expressed the opinion that gold sector is now one of the most successful sectors in Russia.

In 2002 171 tons of gold were mined in Russia. Gold producers forecast that in 2003 production volume will enhance by 5-6 tons.
