CJSC "Zoloto Severnogo Urala" ("The gold of the Northern Ural"), the subsidiary of OJSC "Polimetall", according to the results of 2002, has increased gold mining volume by 57% and became one of the five Russian largest gold mining companies. The gold mining volume of CJSC "Zoloto Severnogo Urala" (Sverdlovsk region) has amounted to 3,3 tons of gold and has exceeded planning figures by 10%.

OJSC "Polimetall" was founded in 1998. Now it includes 12 mining companies from Buryatiya, Khabarovsk krai, Sakhalin, Sverdlovsk, Chita and Magadan regions, scientific institute in St.-Petersburg and exploration, refining and building companies. The holding occupies the first rate in silver mining in Russia and is one of the ten largest gold mining companies.
