The prime minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kasyanov has signed the decree on the certificates for rough diamonds export introduction in Russia.

In particular, it is stated in the document that all the shipments of rough diamonds exported from Russia are to have certificates, which confirm their Russian belonging and absence of "conflict diamonds" in the shipments.

Thus, Russia has supported the resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations from March 13, 2002 N56/263 on global system of certificates for rough diamonds export creation. This resolution is connected with the Kimberley process initiated by the South Africa government in May 2000.
