According to "American Metal Market", company "Norilsk Nickel" plans to begin secondary manufacture of platinum group metals at currently constructing unit of Severonickel", belonging to the company on Kola Peninsula. The representative of a management of "Norilsk Nickel" precious metals division has declared that this unit will process platinum containing a breakage collected in Russia, as well as imported material. Nowadays in the world's market experience a large flow of palladium extracted from fulfilled autocatalysts . It is expected, that in 2005 - 2006 "Norilsk nickel" will be able produce up to 30 - 40 tons of secondary palladium per year.

As the representative of the company has announced, the next step for the company would be the start of manufacture its own catalyst systems, as recent Presidential Decree ¹742 eliminated most issues arising in export of goods containing precious metals.
