Budget Committee of the Federation Council Recommended the Upper Chamber to Approve of Amendments to the Regulation on Precious Metals
Budget Committee of the Federation Council recommended the upper Chamber to approve of amendments to the regulation "On precious metals and gemstones". It was passed by the State Duma on February 15, 2001. The regulation states that ores, sands, concentrates of precious metals and semiproducts of precious metals production can be exported and imported according to the order defined by the President of the Russian Federation. Goverment will manage the pre-affinaged raw operations on the territory of RF. According to one of the authors of the regulation passing is important for supporting ore-mining enterprises where ore-processsing is not profitable and it is more convenient to export ores for processing.
