A field session of the Committee of Diamond Chamber of Russia (DCR) will be held in the capital of Yakutia on February 27. Discussed at the meeting will be the activities of DCR in 1999, development plans for 2000, Alrosa's interactions and other. On the whole DCR's aim has been provision of better conditions for customer - buyer connection on the diamond market, strengthening of Russian producers position on the external market. The main purpose of DCR now is to devise common standards for diamond, brilliant and precious stones trade and further development of legal norms for the diamond and brilliant complex. Creation of a network of branches will allow DCR to become a member of World Federation of Diamond Exchanges. The capital of Sakha republic (Yakutia) will become the third city after Kaliningrad and Ekaterinburg to have a DCR branch. The Yakutia branch will be dealing with licensing of diamond export and creation of a specialized customs station.
