FEBRUARY 16
Palladium export quotas from Gokhran and Central Bank of Russia are not signed yet and will not be in the nearest future, said Valery Rudakov head of the state precious metals reserve Gokhran. He also said that the same situation is true of platinum export quotas. Rudakov said that he cannot give any information on the date when the quotas will be set. "It may take weeks or even longer ", said he. Meanwhile, palladium prices on the world market hit the record point of over $600 a troy ounce (31.1 g) due to the luck of the metal supplies from Russia which satisfies 70% of world demand of palladium. The only supplier that does not need to get the quotas is Norilsk Nickel, which got a 10-year quota last year. Quotas on diamond export are submitted for the acting President to sign and will be established soon.
