In March the governor of Irkutsk region Boris Govorin intends to meet the chairman of the government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kasyanov and the minister of trade and economic development German Gref in order to discuss the question of tender for the Suhoy Log gold deposit exploitation. The deposit is situated in Bodaybinsky region.

According to Mr. Govorin, the Suhoy Log gold deposit exploitation must become a catalyst of the region economics. Now he will maintain control over the question of the tender.

Suhoy Log is one of the largest gold ore deposits in the world. Its resources are estimated at 1100 tons of gold and 250-500 tons of platinum.
