The Amber Room, reconstructed and reborn, will open on May 31, 2003, in Tsarskoye Selo. This information has been given by Astrid Tsimmerman, the director of mass media department of German concern "Rurgas". The concern is the exclusive sponsor of the project .

The revived Amber Room return to St.-Petersburg will become a special gift to the northern capital for its 300th birthday. The restoration works began in 1999 and cost about $3.5 mln.
