The Moscow Office of Alrosa company confirmed that the need of approval of the text of the Agreement with the European Commission aroused due to the fact that a significant share of De Beers trading operations take place in the markets of European Union. This presumes the acknowledgement of the text of the Agreement by Commission in order to verify that the document meets the requirement of anti-monopoly legislation, which applies in the countries of European Union.

While awaiting for the approval of the Commission, both companies have established frame relations, according to which they will continue trade on a voluntary basis.
