Gennady Apanovich, ex-adviser of the prime-minister has become a new general director of the Krasnoyarsk plant of colored metals-the largest enterprise of platinum and palladium production in Russia. Two Moscow banks “Avangard” and “Lanta Bank” have fought for taking the control over the plant. Local administration motivated their choice by the fact that Apanovich is well-known in Krasnoyarsk.

However, as the local administration assured, the real motives of this appointment are to be found in the tough relations between Moscow and the governer of the region Mr. Alexander Lebed. “Having put “the platinum money” under the control of the government emigrant, Mr. Lebed counts on the support of the future president of Russia”,-considers the source of “Kommersant” in the administration of the president. In both baks, nevertheless, assure that Gennadiy Apanovich is convenient for everyone.

“Our bank knew about his candidature before and did not express any objections”, - informed the press-service of “Avangard”. According to the representative of Lanta-bank, the Bank will be ready to work with any manager of the plant.
