Federal centre hopes to strengthen its influence in CJSC "ALROSA", one of the world's largest diamonds mining companies with more than $1,45 bln annual turnover

JSC "ALROSA" Supervisory Council has approved the candidates for the election into the new Supervisory Council. This election will take place on June 21, 2003, at the annual shareholders' meeting. Moscow may increase the number of the people representing the State in the Council.
"ALROSA" Company is one of the world largest diamonds mining companies, its share in the world diamonds mining volume being 25 %. In 2003 "ALROSA" plans to mine diamonds for $1 bln 560 mln. Among its shareholders are the Ministry of Property of the Russian Federation (37% of shares) and the Ministry of the State property of the Sakha Republic (32%).
