The administration of the Chukchi autonomous district has signed the agreement with Canadian company Bema GC on exploration works at gold and silver deposit

In Anadyr the Canadian company Bema Gold Corporation (Bema GC) has arranged the presentation of geological exploration works at the gold and silver deposit Kupol. In December 2002 the Canadian company and the government of Chukchi autonomous district signed the agreement on the sale of 75% share in joint undertaking on gold and silver deposit Kupol exploitation.
According to the preliminary esteems of Russian experts, the deposit's resources are more than 30 tons of gold and 300 tons of silver. However, Canadian experts suppose the resources of the deposit to be considerably more.
